Nikki Hodge, Founder & CEO of The Drop Skincare has had a busy month, receiving multiple award nominations both nationally & internationally.
Nikki has been named as a finalist for the 2023 AusMumpreneur Awards in the Beauty Business of the Year category, along with success at the recent Beauty Shortlist Mama & Baby Awards.
The AusMumpreneur Awards presented by The Women’s Business School celebrate and recognize Australian Mums in business achieving outstanding success in areas such as business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation. The awards are designed to recognize the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.
Like most women trying to juggle mum-life and running a business, Nikki’s life is nothing short of chaotic. A mother to three little ones and one angel-baby, drinking warm coffee and finding five minutes to herself is a luxury. Her angel-baby is the driving force behind her decision to donate a portion of their profits to charity.
She’s passionate about women's health and wellness, especially during pregnancy. After experiencing her own challenges finding safe and effective skincare products during pregnancy, she has dedicated herself to creating a solution for other women.
Nikki is committed to using natural, non-toxic, safe ingredients in her products. She has a strong focus on ethical and sustainable business practices, including responsible ingredient sourcing and eco-friendly packaging.
Nikki is delighted to be named as a finalist and is proud of her achievements, particularly her recent success at The Beauty Shortlist – 2023 Mama & Baby Awards receiving, not one, but two EDITORS CHOICE Awards for her pregnancy safe products. Up against large international brands, the awards celebrate products that scored the highest marks for ingredients, efficacy, safety, formula, packaging and ethics.
There are many benefits to balancing business and motherhood as Nikki explains, “I get to show my children first-hand what a good work ethic looks like and explain to them that to be good at something you need to practice work hard.”
It can be challenging to be a successful business woman whilst raising a family and Nikki gives this advice for others thinking about starting their own enterprise, ”Just Do it! If you have a dream, chase it. For so long, I sat on the side-lines and watched as others took the leap. I've actually seen one woman start a business with an idea that I once had and now her businesses is thriving. Believe in yourself and have a passion for your product or service. It's a tough battle starting a small business, but if you have heart, you can learn along the way. If you make a mistake, learn, adapt or pivot.”
